PicassoTiles 8 Style Wooden Burr Puzzle Cube, Ball and Barrels

The barrel one took me almost twenty minutes the first time, and the pieces fit together with a really satisfying click. Wood feels smooth, no splinters, which matters with a 6-year-old grabbing at it.

My 9-year-old figured out the cube in one sitting but the ball puzzle took him three days, which is exactly what I wanted. The wood pieces are sanded smooth with no splinters, and they fit together tight enough that the shapes hold when he carries them around.

The interlocking pieces have just enough tension that they hold together when you build the barrel shape but still slide apart smoothly. My daughter has been rotating through all eight puzzles at the kitchen table instead of asking for the tablet.
