The animal figures are chunky enough for little hands, and my kids keep rebuilding the same safari enclosure over and over. Eighteen tiles sounds small but it's plenty for two kids to share without fighting.
My 4-year-old spent almost an hour building a little enclosure for the 8 safari figures, and the animals fit perfectly inside the tile walls. The explorers are sturdy enough that he's been tossing them in his toy bin for weeks without any limbs snapping off.
The magnetic tiles click together securely, and the eight animal and explorer figures really bring the safari scenes to life. My kids have been building different enclosures and habitats for hours.
