Discover what comes in the PicassoTiles Mini Diamond Travel Size 120pc set, including figures and a car base, and whether it's the right choice for your family's travels.
Quick answer
The PicassoTiles Mini Diamond Travel Size 120pc set includes 120 mini-sized magnetic tiles, two magnetic feet characters, and a brick-compatible car base for building trucks or trains. It's designed for small hands and travel convenience.
Why the 120pc size matters
With 120 pieces, this set offers more building variety than smaller travel sets. The mini tiles are about half the size of standard magnetic tiles, making them easier to pack and stack on small surfaces like airplane tray tables or car seats.
The included car base transforms creations into rolling vehicles, adding a play dimension that static tile sets lack. Two magnetic feet figures let kids role-play with their builds.
Trade-offs to consider
Mini tiles are not compatible with standard-sized magnetic tile sets, so you cannot combine them with larger tiles. The glossy surface is durable but may show fingerprints more than matte finishes.
While the car base adds play value, it is brick-compatible rather than tile-compatible, limiting integration with other magnetic pieces.
How to decide if this set is right for you
- Travel frequency: If you take road trips or flights at least once a month, the compact size and included storage make this set a practical choice. For occasional travel, a larger standard tile set may offer more play value at home.
- Child's age and dexterity: The mini tiles are sized for small hands (ages 3+). If your child struggles with standard tile sizes or prefers smaller pieces, this set is a good fit. For older kids who want more complex builds, the limited piece count may feel restrictive. Consider your child's typical building complexity before choosing.
- Play style preference: If your child enjoys both building and vehicle play, the car base adds significant value. If they prefer static structures or need more pieces for large creations, a larger standard set without vehicle elements may be better.
